Matt: November 2008 Archives

Tonight is a great night. An epic night. A night for history. Obama's line from New Hampshire echoes in my head: In the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope.

Barack Hussein Obama, a black man of mixed racial heritage; a Kenyan father, saddled with the baggage of a somewhat racist pastor, a junior Senator without even a full term nationally under his belt, will be the next President of the United States of America.

He mentions Lincoln's speech post-Civil War; appropo, because his home state and his resume are similar to Lincoln's.

To think how far we've come from a nation where water fountains were labeled "colored".

In other news...

The FCC has unanimously approved the use of white space, which could lead to a LOT of awesome commercial applications without the monopolization of spectrum. This could lead to alternatives and better competition with all sorts of things, including domestic broadband.
